The production of the Mezcal Amarás commercial was a storytelling challenge that sought to capture the spiritual essence of an ancestral drink. The objective was to go beyond a traditional commercial and immerse ourselves in the mysticism, tradition, and energy of Oaxaca to tell the story of mezcal. The project had to pay homage to the land and the hands that work it, creating a narrative that would reflect the origin of a drink born "for love.
This was a very special project, in which I had the pleasure of collaborating with my friends from Adrenorama: Memo Matthews as the director and a team that included Juan, Tiare, Cantú, and Esteban. We approached the production as an expedition to get to know the soul of the drink. We immersed ourselves in the communities of Oaxaca to film and document the process, meeting the people who work the land. Memo Matthews' vision was to capture the authenticity and energy of mezcal, seeking a genuine connection with its heritage and community.
The result is a powerful audiovisual piece that transcends advertising. The commercial is a poetic journey into the heart of mezcal, capturing the dedication of the people, the mysticism of the land, and the passion that brings it to life. The project's success lies in its ability to transform a brand's story into a tale of heritage and passion, demonstrating how a united team and a clear vision can create something that not only looks good but is felt.
